QM2: A shoreline reunion

When QUEEN MARY 2 is approaching Boston, you can almost always find me on shore to welcome her. I’ve been doing this for many years, yet the experience is different this year now that I’ve been onboard as a passenger.

As the sun rises behind her, I can picture what’s going on inside. Passengers planning their day, many of them in the Kings Court buffet area for breakfast. I can hear the tea cups clanging, and I can see people walking about to get their eggs and their porridge. Others are out on deck or in the Commodore Lounge or Library to observe the approach to this marvelous city.

How I wish I were among them. For a few seconds, I am. Then again, if I can’t be on board, this is most definitely the next best thing.

Welcome back, MARY.
